Recreating Looks: Stylish Girls In Film

These were the early style mavens that I watched and adored, all of which have continued to influence me far past my adolesence.

It might also help that half my wardrobe makes me look about 7 years old. Nevertheless, here are some outfits I collaged together inspired by the characters AND how I would translate them using pieces from my own closet.

I often find myself getting style inspiration from films I used to watch as a kid, because somehow everything from the past always feel creepily familiar. Even if I can’t exactly remember if I watched the movie entirely, or remember the storyline. It’s refreshing to look at girl characters in movies, they avoid the overt “sexy” outfits you get from flicks geared towards teenagers and adults. Hence, my affinity for them grows.
